Exponat — Privacy Policy

Exponat has no accounts and does not ask for names, emails, or phone numbers. We use device sensors to provide the service and we collect limited usage data described below.
1) What we collect
Indoor navigation events
During a visit, we log events such as tour selection, exhibit stops, and route segments (e.g., “entered Gallery 2 → Stop 5”).
AI questions (voice or text)

Voice input (microphone): if you ask by voice, your speech is converted to text (speech‑to‑text). We use the transcript to answer your question and for basic analytics (counts). By default we do not keep the raw audio.

Text input: your typed question is used to answer and may be counted for analytics.
Product interaction & diagnostics

App interactions (buttons tapped, screens viewed), app/OS version and crash logs (if enabled) to fix issues.
2) Sensors & processing

Camera: processed on-device for visual positioning/AR guidance. We do not upload or store camera images or video.

Motion sensors: used to stabilize AR and improve guidance.

Microphone: optional, only when you choose voice input to the AI (speech‑to‑text). Raw audio is not retained by default.

Text‑to‑Speech (TTS): answers can be read aloud using built‑in iOS text‑to‑speech (on‑device). We do not send your text to a third party for TTS.
3) How we use the data

Provide core features: indoor navigation, AR guidance, auto‑play at exhibits, and answers to your questions.

Improve tours, accessibility, and performance through aggregated analytics.

Diagnostics and troubleshooting (crash logs).
4) What we do not collect

No names, emails, phone numbers, photos, contacts, or payment details.

No stable device identifiers stored with event logs.

No third‑party advertising SDKs or cross‑app tracking.

6) Retention
We keep navigation logs, AI question transcripts (text), analytics, and diagnostics only as long as needed for development, testing, troubleshooting, service improvement, and security. When no longer needed, we delete the records or keep aggregated, non‑identifying statistics. Backups are overwritten on a rolling cycle.
